Client Testimonials
Our Team
Bojan (BK) Simendic
Managing Partner
After more than three years as a carpet cleaner and turnover technician with Apartment Turnovers, in 2008 BK saw the need to offer specific renovation and restoration services to these clients. He suggested to Rob that ATI create a division that handled only these requests. In 2008, BK led the opening of the Apartment Restorers team and currently sits as Managing Partner for Apartment Restorers.
BK knows the value and pride of hard work. Having grown up on a pig farm in Serbia, he understands the correlation of early rising, teamwork, and constant process improvement. Along with leading the Apartment Restorers team, BK is an avid reader and student of the human personality matrix. He is a certified Zig Ziglar Facilitator and DISC Personality Assessment Leader.
When he is not leading the Apartment Restorers team, you will find him enjoying life with his wife and three kids, skiing in Wisp, or in his garage designing a cool new contraption using his original mechanical engineering degree knowledge.
Rob Roberton
Partner
Rob Roberton started the sister company, Apartment Turnovers (ATI), in 2005 and within a few years had built a team that could successfully service the restoration needs that property management clients inquired about. Apartment Restorers was created to keep the distinction between the turnover service and restoration/renovation service.
Rob is a master of creating a positive and conducive work environment where everyone feels heard and appreciated. “I am passionate about encouraging others to become the best version of themselves and foster this through our company culture and core values, and I know this begins with me. I am driven to learn, reinvent, and lead a business that serves our clients, team members, their families, and communities in a powerful and meaningful way.”
When Rob is not leading the ATI team, he’s enjoying time with his wife and four children, or creating something unique (and usually useful) with his pottery wheel and kiln.
Sylvie Bureau
Accounts Receivable
Sylvie’s official title should be “Keeper of All of Our Heads” as she is the one who keeps the whole company in line. Sylvie looks through each and every photo that is taken of a job and makes sure the correct items are billed or removed, based on the actual services rendered. Our clients appreciate her intense attention to detail and care for their experience. Sylvie was our first hire at Apartment Restorers, and we’ve appreciated her every day she's been with us.
Originally born in Canada, and as a native French speaker, young Sylvie thought she’d be a flight attendant. Life had other plans and for that we are thankful. One day soon though, Sylvie will be flying on a plane (though as a passenger) and will hopefully be taking that bucket list trip to Australia.
Brandon Boyd
Area Manager for Virginia
Brandon joined Apartment Restorers in September 2020, bringing with him vast experience in insurance, emergency restoration, and customer service. He oversees all of our clients in Virginia which sometimes means first appointments in Alexandria and second appointments in Reston; but because Brandon is known for being always on top of his game, he always makes it happen.
If you wanted to start a conversation with Brandon, the Vikings, Hornets, UNC Tar Heels, or Ohio State Football are good topics. However, he’s holding strong to his streak of never having been to a Starbucks, so that conversation will have to happen on the job site!
Robert Ramey
Area Manager for Maryland
Robert joined the Apartment Restorers family in 2018 as a helper technician. This gives him an advantage in understanding the most efficient process for job scheduling and production. He currently oversees a large portion of our properties in Maryland from Silver Spring to Hagerstown.
If you were to ask 4-year-old-Rob what he wanted to be when he grew up, his answer would have been “Everything!”. He always believes more is possible and that personal and professional growth should never be stopped. His favorite sport to follow is NBA Basketball, namely the Lakers and Lebron James.
Vladimir Aleman
Area Manager for Maryland
Vladimir is one of Apartment Restorers originals, joining the family in 2009. You may have work with Vladimir in the early days when he was a field technician, and possibly as a crew leader. He has an uncanny memory and can remember exactly what units and areas he demoed and repaired even ten years ago when he walks into a property.
If you're looking for Vladimir after work or on the weekends he is not on-call, you can find him on a beach or with a fishing pole in his hand (and likely a barrel of perch next to him ready for that evening's dinner).
Angel Segura
Crew Schedule Manager
Angel Segura’s journey to Apartment Restorers was a short walk – literally across the hall as he transitioned from the Apartment Turnovers division. Angel brings a high level of organization, calm, and diplomacy to his role as Crew Schedule Manager. Angel is responsible for ensuring our clients get their projects completed by the most accessible and capable crews as quickly as possible.
His California roots of outdoor recreation – hiking and swimming – are forefront in his preferences for activities outside of work. If you gave him a blank airline ticket and two weeks, you likely would find him somewhere in Europe near the ocean. He wouldn’t be gone too long though, he would be eager to get back to his dog, Maxamus!
Ivana Rochac
Human Resources
Ivana joined the Apartment Turnovers division in 2013 and has since also taken responsibility for our human resources needs. Ivana wears not only the Human Resources hat, but is also a leader in the constant updating and modifying of internal processes and trainings. Born in Slovakia, young Ivana wanted to be an archaeologist or pathologist. This helps you understand her love for understanding the big picture and the processes that were necessary to achieve a certain result.
A couple fun things about Ivana: she is always the first one to register for our office’s fantasy football competition and she and her husband, Jorge, have a love story like something from a movie - they met by chance at an airport and the rest was history!
Laura Gurney
Accounting
Laura is the keeper of all things accounting and financial. She joined the Apartment Restorers team in 2013 after also being involved in the finance side of ATI.
Laura is an avid runner, once running the Boston Marathon during a nor'easter. When she’s not battling the elements, you can also find her on the pickleball court as she burns calories so she can try out a new restaurant.
